wait! brad kroenig & karl lagerfeld? now karl & baptiste giabiconi?

5088-500wi`ve been a fan of brad kroenig for a while, after seeing him in a round of showpackages for ford models. duh! im a fan of karl lagerfelds as well. while on facebook my homeboy korey lartigue-webb`s status read something about karl & brad – so, naturally i visit his blog to check for more in-depth information. now it seems as though karl had been house with brad for a while now. i thought it was just a happy coencidence that i seen him in ads for K by karl lagerfeld. come to find out- its no fuckn coencidence. i give it up to karl, messing with these young dudes. im not sure how to interpret things though- are they messin` like that or are these boys simply muses to karl vision? one has to wonder. seriously, brad is super good looking though- fuckn duh! he`s a model. now, word on the street is that brad had moved on & the new dude seen with karl is baptiste giabiconi; baptiste is another one! i dont know what to make of any of this but one things for sure- im intrigued! interesting enough is the amount of exposure & interest karl has with these dudes in terms of his vision. with brad he shot an entire book on him- images on the “metamorphoses of an american”; in addition to his other work shot by karl. now with baptiste, he`s been in a number of things shot by karl as well. fashionista`s are taking well to karl`s trade in & many are saying his look rivals that of brad- which, in many cases- they`re right! (sorry brad.) what a love triangle? if its even that serious. seriously, my god! can you imagine? all hail the great karl lagerfeld.

alexander mcqueen has this to say..

“Comme des Garçons and Martin Margiela. There are designers that I admire, but I don’t look up to them. I don’t really look at what everybody else is doing. That’s a studio mentality. There comes a time in your life when you focus solely on what you believe is right, regardless of what everybody else is doing.” [SRC]

coming attractions » “model as muse”

herbritts
it seems as though the world is slowly taking to concept of the returning supermodel. its been years since we had another cindy crawford, linda evangelista - naomi campbell or christy brinkly what about stephanie seymour? claudia schiffer? no one has yet to dethrone kate moss & no one can stop gisele. but now, the MOMA’s costume institute will be holding its exhibit for “model as muse” less than a month from now. industry heads & fashionista bloggers all around are buzzing; who will wear what? who will sit where? but whose in the exhibit? fashion week daily reports, “the exhibit itself will be made up of photographs in addition to the 70 costumes. the supermodels of the 80s & 90s like cindy crawford, christy turlington, naomi campbell, linda evangelista and moss will be the exhibit’s main event, although images of models from as early as the ’40s will also be a part of the show. ” i think its exciting to see these models get recognition & what a dope idea for the choice of display. more as this story develops & hopefully i can manage to get my hands on some photos for us to peep when the exhibit opens. more as this develops. valentino reigns as the last emperor

arapacis1

i`ve been super excited for even the slightest possibility that i would have to see the documentary on garavani valentino, “the last emperor”. i think the cameras really captured who he is as a person & as a design genius- i loved that they showcased his longtime love in the documentary as well. the documentary opening in NYC at film forum & busted the doors down; fashion weekly daily reports that the documentary grossed $39,106, including $21,784 during the documentary`s opening weekend. the film, directed by Matt Tyrnauer has now been recorded as the highest opening-weekend gross of any U.S. documentary for the year. forget the fact that the year has just begun; those numbers are huge. those numbers set the bar to even higher levels of success putting the film at the top of the list of most successful forum films in three decades.

whats even more exciting, as i was telling my friends through THE JEREMYDANTE CONNECT via facebook; “everything comes to california last” – the film will open in Chicago on March 27, and Los Angeles and San Francisco on April 3 AAAAAAAAAHHH! im so excited to see it; im going insane. congratulations to all those creatively involved with the project. the film is recieving golden reviews from all over the globe in addition to winning best documentary internationally. look out for this film in your city or go to www.valentinomovie.com for more info.
