OKAY. so, on some real shit, i dont know what the whole hype is about these kanye vuitton sneakers. chanel iman tweet’d about them yesterday saying something along the lines of: “ladies, these are the shoes your boo needs.” – its funny, because the few people that i did get a reaction out of thought they looked like some reeboks with LV logo placement. as did i. so whats the deal with these muthafuckn shoes sellin out, basically, before they hit shelves. i thought we were in a recession? is it the clever marketing of the house of vuitton? could it be that kanye west successfully shoved these shoes down our throats enough for us to want them? us meaning everyone else who wants those kicks aside from me, cause i dont. truth be told, those ads featuring a nude amber rose, kanye’s chick, did stir things up & the shoes did get hyped as well as rocked by kanye west any & every available opportunity. on high priced items often times people go on a waiting list & reportedly, those lists are full. my only true concern is who are the consumers calling & lining up for these kicks? after all, hip-hop has a powerful influence. could the neighborhood dope boys be the ones filling the lists? i wouldnt doubt it. how recession proof are strip clubs & even more so, how well does the crack/cocoaine game do in a thriving community or hood? my boyfriend did mention that he’s feelin’ the white boat shoes & i did admit once that the pink sole’d edition is aiiight. whatever. i just dont think its that serious or even necessary for anyone to give kanye another reason to have a big head & engulf himself in more conciete. remember when he first started he would always be like, “we all self concious, im just the first to admit it..” [?] what happened to that kanye. when did all the self-conciousness wear thin? more information as its provided.
