the pieces of the fall 2009 nike sportswear collection, as seen here, remind me of my childhood. i remember being a child & wanting nothing more than a pair of nike’s. when i got to fifth grade, my mom gave me a chance. being a child who always took the best care of all possesions, i opted for a pair of ken griffey jr.’s, right? i even had a matching nike pullover & i thought i was the illest kid in school. i remember being the only child to have white shoes; my mom told me that i was the only one who could keep them clean. my brother & sister always had to get black. but anyway, enough of those childhood memories- the collection reminds me of those styles. in a sense it is classic american sportswear. created with the name of a greek goddess representing victory, nike has remained one of the top athletic manufacturers- i love the pieces shown & though my heart melts for high end items i can never forget the origins of my style roots. buh-lee-dat.
