H&M started it all with their first ever design collaboration with karl lagerfeld. now, seemingly, every season we have designer collaborations to look forward to. the concept is nothing new, high fashion looks for fast fashion prices. in an attempt to push your brand beyond high-end luxury & into the masses- it seems to be the trend to go with a fast fashion sales plan. after H&M, target decided to get into the fashion game & ante up with their first designer collaborater, izzac mizrahi. after mizrahi other designers followed. H&M will release their annual design collaboration, boasting a collection with jimmy choo. after those reports, you know target had to come wit it!  anticipating this fashion fiends: rodarte is designing for target! incredible designs & infamous spike footwear from rodarte have put the designer label on the map. with the stips of leather, the thigh-high boots laced with straps- the design aesthetic from rodarte is a total fast forward for fashion. of course, fast fashion collaborations always get watered down- and when i say watered down im talking by at least two gallons. the reported, 55 piece collection will be featured as part of target’s go international collection. the womenswear collection for the mass retail & superstore mega monster will range in price starting from $9.99-$79.99. the collection will provide a variety of styles including knee high socks & printed jackets. described as both, “feminine yet modern”, im sure the collection wont dissapoint. im wondering though, which locations will house these collections? because thats the shit that gets you- not every target is gonna be filled with racks of rodarte-for-less. set to launch december 20th, just in time for christmas, the collection will launch both in store & online. past collaborations with target have included thakoon, richard chai & alexander mcqueen. you can anticipate holiday dresses from the collection collaboration in “different patterns, textures and prints” . exciting to see what the collection will bring fourth. the collection will be available through february 6th, 2010. all i know is these bitches finna be fighting, watch! so if you’re waiting & you do end up putting hands on someone- dont scratch & dont pull hair. a closed fist always gets the job done. happy hunting.
