pre-fall collections: oscar de la renta

giving you more than the expected level of elegance, oscar de la renta shows these hoes how its done for his pre-fall collection for the year 2010. doing a runway show while other designers have opted for press release image packages, oscar continues to build upon his fashion design legacy with this collection. refinement through inspiration seemingly from a russian fairy tale, the collection hosts dresses & gowns with undeniable class & glamour. layers, high-waisted pants, florals, textures, prints, intricate patterns & dope beadwork & beyond are all seen with this collection. on top of the other collections- as an american fashion house, this is how its done. the collection is superb & the de la renta clientele better grab their pocket books; if this is any indication of the fire that will blaze the runways for FW2010, the game is gonna go bonkers. this collection is everything to me; classic womenswear for the refined women who love fashion & understand the value of style.

the see by chloé pre-fall collection for 2010 is completely adorable. masculine styles are made playful with female twists &  denim is even involved. prints on satin & polka dotted blouses are front row center for the irresistable collection. layers & boots add to the fall feel.

pre-fall collections: maison martin margiela

the house of martin margiela is said to have decided to continue forward as an operating fashion house without margiela himself. there is speculation in the fashion blogosphere that there were existing conflicts that prevented margiela from doing what he wanted with his label. those close to the brand have denounced those murmurs stating that martin simply wanted to retire. the mystique of the margiela label is a part of fashion history. martin himself never did any interviews & was never seen by anyone in the press. the creative team that has been curated by margiela himself of the last two decades remains on board & have produced & created the pre-fall collection you see here. expectedly so, the creative team has independently created the last couple of season collections for the label without any creative input from mr. margiela. the pre-fall collective continues to showcase minimalism in futuristic design elements. though a small collection, the style signature of margiela is seemingly one that the creative team knows all too well. some feel that the creative credibility of the brand is at stake- the collection speaks for itself & clearly.

pre-fall collections: donna karan

donna karan supplies us with her signature draping & body concious designs. karan is known for creating clothes that hide the ‘trouble spots’ & in this collection she does so ever so elegantly. the collection hosts, for the most part, a darker palette with two cameo’s of pear & kiwi colored metallics. the design signature seen in any donna karan collection is undeniable. as in past collections, karan continues to produce refinement.

the carolina herrera pre-fall collection brings fourth winter textures & winter florals with punches of yellow & red. i love the design details seen in the beading within this collection. red as an accent color will be huge for the fall of 2010. a cute collection with unexpected flare.

pre-fall collections: jason wu

i love the pre-fall collection from jason wu. we see a blue, green & black color palette with hints of metallic. the construction of the clothes is heavy on layering & manages to provide a surprisingly chic collection. jason wu has really established himself as a worthy designer in the high end market. for me, he had to work hard to escape the shadow of the whole ‘michelle obama hype’ with the white inauguration dress. his pre-fall collection proves him a worthy player beyond any form of false hope or presidential hype. the collection is very marketable to varied age brackets & the color palette is perfect for fall. again, as many collections for this pre-fall season, the collection is very waist concious. i love it.
