the fashion report: twenty-eight

pre-fall collections: pringle of scotland

pringle of scotland presented innovative usage of knits, ill construction of coats & reintroduced style signatures of their london based designs. i love this collection for the sole reason that the creative direction took a leap into the future. the layered & almost kilt-like inspired skirts in wool & tweed are amazing. the overflowed looks of knit on the sweaters & turtlenecks sent me over the edge. i love the tailoring on the coats as well. this collection is amazing, incredible direction & endless inspriation for the fall.

pre-fall collections: j.mendel

the j.mendell pre-fall collection hosts interesting lines & clean construction. cameos of metallic & red are seen & hidden through out each look. i love the collection & its take on hushed yellows. though i like those small details about the collection, i feel the strength of mendel’s designs lie in the black & navy looks. completely apporpriate for the fall, these designs are the most interesting to me; as i feel that color can be a large distraction from actual garment construction. the collection produces quality garments with an elevated amount of style & sophistication.

pre-fall collections: narcisco rodriquez

narcisco rodriquez displays futuristic lines & clean construction for his pre-fall collection. as mention & noticed in other pre-fall collections, red is seemingly highlighted in all collections. narcisco seems to work with the color red as almost a signature. think back to the red dress michelle obama wore the night barack won the election. the color palette is a great pre-fall option, we see black, charcoal & hints nuetral tones matched to smoked blues. i love the collection for simple reasons & love even more that jeniel williams of new york models appears within the collection imagery set. i love the collection, completely clean & chic.
