madonna returns for the fall dolce & gabbana campaign through the lens of steven klein. i love that the past few seasons of dolce & gabbana have really payed homage to their italian roots. as a visual trend among the high end houses this season, the campaign is shot in black & white as we see madonna playing a role of an italian woman in old new york. i really admire brand heritage & honoring your roots, so im very responsive to the campaigns they’ve created. i love the fact that high end labels understand the importance of versatility; it can be purple fur with blue lighting in a casino one season & a grey scaled italian rooted image the next. the casting of madonna for the label & how she appears is stunning, understated & gorgeous.
