spring collezioni: jil sander, milan
by Jeremy Danté
adapting their signature of minimalism, the jil sander label presented a surprising rendition of prints for the spring season. use of vertical stripes appeared completely chic on the runway & i found it refreshing from the usually straight laced sander collections. though great design was shown, the show sequence affected the overall cohesion of palette for the collection. design wise, the collections presented by the jil sander are expectedly clean & structured every season. i admire the attempt to use color as clearly defined through trends we’ve seen with other collection in milan, london & new york. rather than providing contrast, the color story appears scattered & without direction at all. greatly, the design of each garment, manages to shine through with the exception of bad choice in color. assuming, i expect a beautiful campaign with the stripped sander aesthetic.
