as a leader for eco-friendly fashion, john patrick presents his SS11 womenswear collection. mirroring the collections natural concepts, the palette is kept simple & all the more chic appearing in oatmeal, cotton white, beige & taupe with the additions of smoked grey & dulled navy. i love the casual feel of the collection pieces & feel a sense of freedom in this collections designs. the use of sheer is very chic & the slouchy fits of the collection will definitely be a selling point for consumers. boyfriend blazers & floral printed dresses were all created for the spring collection, which is constructed of organic materials. while respecting the environment, who wouldn’t with these stylish spring option. an inspiring set, organic & completely chic.

the SS11 sachin + babi womenswear collection fuses flowerchild chic with progressive design construction. while the palette is essential for spring, we see flowered prints with shots of red & fuschia, as well as a few black & white pieces contrasted with a few pale oranges. though interestingly conceptualized, i find that the collection palette takes away from the collection’s ability to truly shine.  while im sure other collections this season will use powerful colors & bright burst of contrast, perhaps this collection will prove to be a separation from what other designers are showing. the strength of this collection is the construction.

presenting a black, yellow & sand toned palette for the spring, the willow womenswear set displays progression of trends we’ve seen in seasons past. evolved gladiator sandals & windswept prints were all pieced together & pack significantly valid style punch. harem pants were seen in the collection along with refreshing use of yellow. overall, the collection takes the casual elements of what spring has to offer & meshes them with familiar trends we’ve seen over the course of the last year.

shot by solve sundsbo, with styling by katie grand; ana beatriz & alessandra ambrosio appears for the october issue of vogue nippon. nothing makes me smile harder than bad females looking refined & classic. the use of color in this spread is shockingly chic, katie grand went in on this spread. both ana & alessandra are represented by elite models & both rank among the top sexiest females in the fashion game. while the only sexually relative elements are the exposed legs, the spread is still entirely captivating from concept to outfit. one of my favorite spreads.

shot by blogger tommy ton, vogue nippon features suzanne diaz & tatiana cotliar of next ny for their october issue. styled by aurora sansone, the spread adapts ton’s photography style that is often seen on his popularized blog, jak&jil.com- which i love. while the styling may come off as casual, fans of ton’s work can readily identify his signature. at first glance, i said to myself, “okay, so now photographers are biting bloggers?” come to find out- a blogger shot this. that aside, blogger or not- i’ve heard a few opinions of others on this particular spread & love the images & the casual sensibility it provides for high fashion. through show season, internationally, tommy ton captures some of the most candid & fascinating fashion moments outside of fashion shows, backstage, as well as on the runway. major applause for all of his crossover endeavors.  

shot by jamie morgan & styled by tamara rothstein, this majorly epic blonde driven fashion spread was shot by for the september issue of katie grand’s love magazine. acting as an ode to iconic females, the spread is shot against powder pink back drops as well as white base boards. the styling of the spread is kept simple, clean & sharp. as fashion publications tend to do, this spread continues further & is love’s main fall fashion feature editorial. i respect the persistence of the concept intended as seen with the models cast for the spread. a lively bunch of females, understated style & new age editorial concept. katie grand continues to impress me with each published issue of love hitting newstands.

shot by mariano vivanco, hannah holman appears alongside jordan coulter for the october issue of numéro tokyo. presenting statment coats for the fall, hannah is represented by elite models by male model jordan coulter of VNY. again referencing style that is scaled back, with a focus on statement pieces, the collection really spotlights the fall burberry prorsum collection extremely well. i fully support the option to shoot this spread in particular against a white wall, it allows each of the coats to take on their own dialogue in surround sound. hannah’s bleach brows & platinum locks are picture perfect against the harsh blacks & deep browns of the spread. numéro tokyo is among my most favorite.

salieu jalloh, tyler riggs, abiah hostvedt, lyle lodwick, parker hurley, henry watkins, eryck laframbose, dan felton, derek keeton, ibrahim baaith, shawn sutton, nelson nieves & of last but most certainly not least, wendell lissimore have all been seen as regulars here on the blog. much like sessilee for major, i consider wendell the leader of this pack, at this agency. as a premiere agency representing astounding male model talents of color, red models has added a few new faces to their roster this season. as introduced a earlier last week, eryck frambose will make his new york city runway debut this season. while im expecting wendell to rip the runway, as i do every season, im sure that henry watkins, dan felton & tyler riggs wont have any booking issues either. aside from major, i feel most familiar with reds board & this season was stopped in my tracks when seeing some of the new faces. this season, i have my eye on genaro perez. appearing racially ambiguous, im so excited to see that this type of beauty is being embraced in fashion. while genaro is a new face, im always juiced to see ethnical beauty similar to my own. the men of red bum rush show season, every season in new york & beyond. recently wrapping season one of ‘model city’, there has been a significant amount of focus put on red models & hopefully the publicity will only allow larger & more prestigious opportunities for each of the models seen above. check for these guys on the runways as well as editorially.
