lara stone for calvin klein collection, spring

represented by IMG, lara stone returns for the summer/spring 2011 season, as the face of calvin klein collection. shot by mert + marcus, the campaign images are a clean cut translation of the aesthetic presented each season on the runways of new york fashion week, for the house of calvin klein. while the collection is structural & almost, in some ways, bland- i cant deny the fact that a restructuring of style is & has been happening at the house of calvin klein in the past five years. with stunning images like these further solidifying this new age movement, the legacy of the klein label has been changed forever. im in love with the choice to shoot in black & white, not to mention my love for heavy lighting & ultimately, an image with depth. nothing tops lara when it comes to high end campaigns & this season is a superb follow-up to what we seen last fall. incredible.

sophie holmes for nicole miller, spring

through the lens of robbie fimmano, sophie holmes appears strikingly for the SS11 nicole miller campaign. represented by IMG models, sophie has appeared in scattered editorial & campaign spots since she arrived on the model scene in 2006. greyscaled images with white hot lighting were created for the spring season, intended on thrusting the miller label into the high fashion stratosphere, even greater, by becoming a larger influence in american fashion. established in 1982, the brand has been making impressively creative moves through design & direction; as so greatly demonstrated here. i love the images & can feel a larger influence of new age minimalism, an aesthetic that has had a rapid effect on  fashion.

anna selezneva for emporio armani, spring

represented by IMG, anna selezneva is cast for the spring 2011 emporio armani campaign. through the lens of mario sorrenti, we see continuity in the advertising campaign direction between this season & last. incredible use of light & stunning contrast of texture, the armani label has hit a creative nerve & i applaud them for doing so. of the three armani sub-labels, giorgio armani, armani exchange & emporio- in terms collective creative credibility the emporio campaigns are my favorite. the usually stunning selezneva gives a moving performance as this season’s model of choice. an incredibly inspiring set.

sasha pivovarova for alberta ferretti, spring

shot by paolo roversi, sasha pivovarova of IMG appears for the beautiful alberta ferretti summer/spring 2011 campaign. seen against a covered studio backdrop in light saturation, sasha appears immaculately styled in the ferretti spring collection allowing the brand to tap into a larger association with femininity. while much of the FW10 season focused on palette dominance based on all black everything; spring really represents the anti-black moment, stylistically. collections presented for the spring are much more soft, romantic & free flowing. in design, those elements were accurately & creatively translated through this season’s campaign. as referenced last weekend, i greatly admire the work of roversi, photographically he is a perfect fit.

karolina kurkova for bottega veneta, spring

appearing for her second ad campaign this season, karolina kurkova appears through the lens of alex pragner for the summer/spring 2011 bottega veneta campaign. represented by IMG, kurkova manages to stay relevant in booking multiple campaigns each season & she also booked the spring max mara campaign. walking for victoria’s secret & consistently booking & blazing high end editorial, internationally- kurkova holds the rank as fashion’s no. 7 highest earning & the no. 19 sexiest. though only a single shot is seen here, the open air shot with the bird flying in the backdrop is a clear indication of the campaigns direction. while bottega venete also boasts acessories- im hoping that more images will surface as the new year progresses. though not spectacular, i can do nothing but respect karolina for as long as she has been in this game & working.

hannelore knuts for akris, spring

belgian female model, hannelore knuts appears for the akris spring campaign this season & appears doll faced & stiff. representing the akris brand perfectly, the poise & overall image shot for this season showscases structure, architectual lines & clean concepts. the starck white is well balanced with hannelore’s jet black hair & well balanced with a classic red lip. replacing daphne guinness for akris last season, hannelore is represented by ford models. at the front end of the millenium, knuts rose to model power appearing three times in a row for italian vogue & has since shot numerous editorials & walked for many designers internationally. you might recognize her  as one of the models that was cast alongside natasha poly for H&M’s lanvin collection; through video as well as on the runway. a thoughtful image that is true to the brand’s aesthetic.

kasia struss for miu miu, spring

through the lens of mert + marcus this stunning image was produced starring kasia struss. represented by women model management, the polish female models is to be joined by querelle jansen & sasha pivovarova for the spring campaign; though those images have not yet been revealed. going from playful to more upscale & mature, the powerful red floor combined with the mirrored backdrop is a sickenly ill accent to the incredible footwear from the collection & allows the printed designs & color blocking of the collection to be seen that much more. mert + marcus are among the best in the business & here they have proven their skill in creating marketable fashion images that attract the art eye as well. beautifully shot.

elisa sednaoui for giorgio armani, spring

represented by IMG models, elisa sednaoui appears for the giorgio armani summer/spring 2011 campaign, through the lens of nick knight. highlighting a wardrobe slightly in motion, along with beautiful lighting; i find that most anything nick knight creates is stunning. as for this collection, during spring show season i reviewed it to a less than spectacular rating, overall. but here the collection actually transforms & exudes more of the armani essence then during the actual runway show. the clothes look beautiful & have made me second guess my judgement of the poorly produced runway show in milan. well done.
