the complete D&G anthology ad campaign image set

the concept behind the D&G fragrance is five personalities. naomi campbell represents the star. noah mills represents. the charmer claudia schiffer represents the dreamer. tyson ballou represents the seducer. while eva herzigova & fernando fernandes represent the players. it only makes sense to enlist multiple models. i like how the campaign was executed, a well thought of concept from start to finish with the fragrance line & the models used. who else could they have used as the star? completely appropriate to use naomi. & what can’t you say about noah mills? photographic credit to mario testino.

D&G | SS10 runway

the D&G collection, for those unaware, is the more casual side of the house of dolce & gabbana. this season, dominico & stefano take us through a western theme complete with plaid shirts & leather jackets. as for the model selection for the runway showcase, D&G always has the best models & most of whom appeared at the dolce & gabbana show also walked the runway for D&G. the usual suspects nate gill, tyson bisou, terron wood, adam senn & one of the twin davenport brothers. oddly, there was no jesus luz or david gandy. just an observation on my end. great themed collection.

i feel like i have dolce & gabbana coming out of my ears at this point;
just to clarify this is a fashion blog, not a dolce & gabbana blog.
good shit on the house of dolce’s part though for overextending all these images.

runway identification | adam senn

adamsennadam senn is represented by wilhelmina model management. yes, yes! your not mistaken- he is the same dude from MTV’s the city; however- before that show even aired adam was a long time working model. he is also another face used for the current D&G campaign. he was seen in the italian fashion houses gym look book images & is now seen above in their current runway show. adam has a great look & is obviously a favorite of the dominico & stefano.

dolce & gabbana`s luxury compromise

stefano-gabbana-and-domenico-dolceits been dark days for lacroix, nailbiting high-end retailers  have had sales all around & some are recieving phone calls from creditors more than they do their own boyfriends. so whats a fashion label to do in this time of economical credit crunch? well..cut the prices. italian fashion house dolce & gabbana have announced plans to cut prices to accomodate the spending of the label to keep its employees & to keep their valued clientele as well. the brand says, “There are too many clothes, too many seasons, too much advertising — too much of everything that is tacked onto the final price. We want to go back to how things were 20 years ago … This is the only way to save the market and our companies”. quite commendable for the label in this day in age- most brands would cut staff or turn their noses up to the idea of a sale. WWD listed some of the brands price cuts including: A pair of five-pocket jeans for spring will sell for $450 (for spring 2009 they cost $695); a dress will cost $1,469, down from $2,295; a leather bomber jacket will be priced at $1,499, compared with $2,296, and an iconic stretch silk tulle corset dress will go to $3,589 from last year’s $5,200. the price cuts are being implemented by D&G through cut backs from suppliers & rationalizing the amount spent on materials for the coming collections. reportedly, the amount of fabric purchases will be cut from the hundreds to the dozens & everything from button costs & alternative stitching techniques are being looked into. sounds like a wise choice for dolce & gabbana- in this economy you can never be too safe.
