dominque hollington for hunter

represented by DNA models, dominique hollington appears for hunter magazine outfitted in givenchy with an unexpected smile. as an international men’s style publication, hunter magazine seemingly packs a powerful punch as the cover gives us a taste of what elements make-up their 18th issue.  from the creators of italian publication, the/end, it seems as though print is bigger & better than ever, in the world of fashion. glad to see dom gracing the cover, as he is a male model, i feel, the game has been sleeping on for quite some time. a new york native, hollington has been on the modeling scene for a minute, booking significant editorial spots for i-D, italian GQ & vogue hommes japan; as well as landing campaign bookings for bennetton, puma & the gap. once represented by red models, i am hoping that DNA, which is hollington’s new agency, readily tackles the opportunity to garner him even more success as a developing male model icon. dominique is a standout among other male models for his street but chic look. one of the illest males working in fashion today. i suggest you get familiar.

fei fei, bambi, britt + milou for vogue nippon

vogue nippon presents their march issue with three of fashion’s latest faces on the scene. britt maren & fei fei sun of women model management are seen alongside bambi northwood-blyth of elite & milou van groesen of DNA. shot by inez & vinoodh, the models appear wardrobed in the spring louis vuitton collection, which focused on oriental inspiration with the rise of luxury demands in asia. while the cover is noticeably more tame, vogue nippon usually swings into action beyond the cover as they often look to create a more clean cover for the newsstand. for those unaware, vogue nippon is the japanese version of vogue & the term ‘nippon’ is used as a native term of the japanese, 日本 nihon or officially 日本国. in light of the tragedy that has struck the japanese coast, i encourage you to make donations via itunes as low as $5 to assist the japan tsunami relief fund here.

david gandy for shortlist mode

as a modern day icon for the return of classic male supermodels, david gandy appears handsomely for the debut issue of short list mode. shot in black & white, shirtless & donning one of spring’s biggest trends of large brimmed hats; the cover was photographed by ram shergil. david gandy is one of the most recognized male models of today’s fashion scene & has been incredibly successful through his extensive work for dolce & gabbana. david’s looks is so iconic, even a shadowed face that reveals his cheek bones & strong build are easily recognized. represented by DNA models, david ranks as the no. 2 male model in fashion & hails from the united kingdom. speculation of movie roles have swirled the internet since last year & word is he is set to play the new james bond in the next flick in the bond series. until then, we have editorials, campaign & runway to quench our male model thirsts. david is one of the illest male models in the game & always brings a feel of classic masculinity.

edita vilkeviciute for vogue china, spring collections

shot by sølve sundsbø, edita vilkeviciute appears for the special collections edition of the summer/spring 2011 season. with a metallic cover, the cover is a beautiful representation & clear statment of spring trend as yellow dripped on the runways in new york, london, paris & milan. represented by DNA models, edita hails from lithuania & ranks as one of fashion’s most sexy female models in the game. with a no. 18 rank within the top 50, edita has booked four campaigns this season; appearing for CK white label, CK swim, blumarine as well as rag & bone. editorially, vilkeviciute is an editorial favorite with regular cameos in vogue china, vogue nippon, american vogue, vogue germany & numero. i love this cover for it’s bold & yet understated appeal; true of trend this season & the feathers add an imaginative styling touch. another flawless visual performance.

fall shwpckg: dna model men, new york

with an increasingly impressive men’s board presented for the fall show season in new york, DNA models has been much more well known for their women’s board. with an intent to change that perception, probably one of the most successful & groundbreaking models on the men’s board is andrej pejic. with a look dipped in androgyny, andrej has been picked up as a favorite of jean-paul gaultier, booking the gaultier campaign & haute couture runway show, closing the show as bride, last month in paris. in addition to pejic, colby jamar, dominique hollington, dorian cobb, grayson vaughn, josh beech, lasse pedersen, mark cox, nils butler & philip huang have been seen faces & known names in both commercial & high end bookings. one of my favorite male models of this batch is dominique hollington, who made an agency switch previously being signed with red models. you’ve seen dorian cobb appear for H&M, josh beech appears in the SS11 moschino menswear campaign. as the world of male models swells with popularity, DNA models has a strong cast of males that will be watched on the runways.

baptiste giabiconi for dansk

as the number one ranked male model in fashion, baptiste giabiconi of DNA appears in a noticeably transformative state for the cover of dansk. an exposed chest, strategically distressed garments, leather & hair extensions- baptiste continues to make strides to maintain & defend the number one spot. shot by bojana tatarska, i am not entirely sure if these images are intended to be released as a set, or if they are purely intended on being used as teasers to promote the issue. inside of the issue, baptiste opens up about his relationship with karl largerfeld. baptiste is one of the most entertaining male models to watch because his opportunities in fashion afforded to him by his association with largefeld allow him to be everywhere. showcasing more versatility, baptiste has a remarkably memorable look & he will surely set a new standard.

editorialesque » magdalena frackowiak for muse

appearing for the winter issue of muse, magdalena frackowiak appears in white attire through the lens of maciek kobielski. styled by darcy backler, the spread focuses on more raw forms of beauty, magdalena appears beautifully while the images appear much less polished than other publications like vogue or harper’s bazaar. represented by DNA models, magdalena ranks no. 13 within the top 50 female models of fashion & hails from poland. appearing throughout 2010 for louis vuitton, lanvin, max mara & givenchy campaigns, magdalena is one of the most outstanding female models & her bone structure sets her apart. her ability to transform into the vision of most design directions affords her the opportunity to stay on top.

editorialesque » maryna linchuk for vogue germany

with fashion editing by nicola knels & lynn schmidt, maryna linchuk of DNA models appears for the january issue of vogue germany. seen through the lens of greg kadel, i love the style direction for this editorial. as of late, the work of greg kadel is going through forms of experimentation with lighting in motion. you might remember the numéro cover with jac jagaciak or russian vogue’s cover & feature editorial with jessica stam- both spreads, including the one seen here, showcase an image seemingly in motion. while the styling of this spread is much more sporty & unexpected, im glad to see kadel adapting more versatility into his polished photography portfolio upon entering 2011. i love that more creativity was adapted to the spread; it’s quite a shift from the polished aesthetic we seen for the issue’s cover. in love with the styling, good way to start the year.

maryna linchuk for vogue germany

through the lens of greg kadel, maryna linchuk enters the top of the year on the cover of german vogue’s january issue. seen in high contrast against a seemingly illuminated backdrop, im always pleased to see the work of greg kadel. represented by DNA models, maryna ranks no. 27 within the top 50 female models of fashion & has also recently landed the december cover of vogue turkey. this past year, you may recall seeing linchuk as the 2010 contracted face of the miss dior cherie fragrance by christian dior campaign. in 2011, maryna will be replaced with actress natalie portman but continues her stride to the top. of all the female models in the game, maryna is outstanding to me; i love her sharp features & piercing eyes. word on the street is maryna is said to have booked the SS11 dolce & gabbana campaign. a stunning cover, which is sure to follow an ill editorial.
