linda evangelista for talbots, fall


represented by DNA models, iconic supermodel linda evangelista appears for the FW10 talbots campaign. shot by mert & marcus, talbots has never looked this chic. i love the understated elegance in contrast with the darker presentation. the simple caption that reads, “we believe in tradition transformed” is so on-point for the creative re-direction to the retailer has taken. born in canada, evangelista’s career has spanned through the 80′s & 90′s- & in the new millenium she is still one of the baddest.

raquel zimmermann + nikola jovanovic for gucci, fall


reresented by DNA models, raquel zimmermann follows up the pre-fall campaign images shot with joan smalls with these FW10 campaign images alongside nikola jovanovic of ford, shot by mert + marcus, the campaign focuses on the rich brown tones most commonly associated with the fall fashion season, as well as the gucci heritage. we see a reappearance of those geometric chairs in gold this season & of course ryan kennedy & natasha poly are swapped for raquel & nikola. over all, mert + marcus are well aware of how to make the gucci branding image shine a little brighter- the images capture movement & the collection with an elevated sense of style & chic. the full scope of the collection is displayed very well for this season.

maryna linchuk for blumarine, fall


represented by DNA models, maryna linchuk was cast for the FW10 blumarine campaign. replacing last seasons doutzen kroes, maryna appears in like images as we see the collections fall garments shot in a studio setting. while i love maryna, the collection presented by blumarine for the fall was a bit camp to me. it was almost as if the designs were a mockery or over-extension of trends. shot by patrick demarchelier the fringe, the animal print & crystalized shoes can get to be a bit much. aside from this booking, linchuk can also be seen in the fall derek lam campaign.

freja beha erichsen for maxmara, fall

 

represented by IMG models, freja beha erichsen appears for the fall/winter 2010 maxmara campaign. shot by mario sorrenti, the campaign is shot entirely in black & white much like the versace & yves saint laurent FW10 sets. drawing focus to the collections statement coats & handbags, the collection is kept faultlessly slick. timeless image & style is what im most responsive to- i find great value in being able to come back to an image years after it was shot & say, regardless of how trends evolve, this is a stylish image. i get that feeling from this image & thus, its a very thoughtful marketing approach. trends are nice but in fashion we all seek a sense of permanence, especially in regards to personal style.

jon kortajarena for lagerfeld by karl lagerfeld


represented by wilhelmina models, it seems as though lagerfeld has take notes from tom ford, casting jon kortarjarena for his fall/winter 2010 ad campaign. as we know, for many seasons running jon kortarjarena has been the sole face of tom ford menswear & now he appears for lagerfeld. recognized as the top male model of the year for 2009 by GQ, im glad to see jon expanding even further in the world of male modeling. already one of my favorite male models of the current fashion age- his look is timelessly versatile & i live & love his features completely.

ginta lapina for sportmax, fall


appearing for the 2010 fall/winter sportmax campaign, ginta lapina is represented by women mokdel management. focusing on the textures of their fall collection, the campaign was shot by david sims & i find it super chic. while the sportmax campaigns are usually simple, they still broadcast an incredible amount of style. sportmax is a sub-division under the house of max mara in association with the max mara group. based in italy, clothing from the label is not available to us as U.S. residents.

karlie kloss for donna karan, fall


celebrating 25 years of success in the fashion world, juggernaut womenswear empire donna karan reveals their FW10 ad campaign featuring top female model, karlie kloss. represented by next models ny, karlie appears for the american based label through the legendary lens of patrick demarchelier. fashion dipped in black appears completely chic & i really love how dark & seductive the campaign images are. historically, donna karan got her start in the world of womenswear working at anne klein in the 1960′s. by 1971 she had risen to associate designer & by 1984 walked away from the klein label to pursue her own destiny. that destiny was first revealed to the world in 1985 in the form of the first ever donna karan collection. known for making real clothes for real women, karan has conquered the fashion world as a powerful force in womenswear. after many years of success in all commercial markets in fashion- the donna karan empire is now a fully function powerhouse of retail collections & subdivisions including over 20 designer fragrances under the namesake donna karan branding title. donna karan is an acclaimed designer holding CFDA awards for best menswear designer of the year 1992, best womenswear designer in 1990 & 1996 & in 2004 received the lifetime achievement award. as the campaign seen here for the FW10 season continues to push karan as a vital designer & puzzle piece in the bigger picture of american fashion- to another 25.

viktoriya sasonkina for galliano by john galliano, fall

represented by women model management, viktoriya sasonkina was shot for the FW10 john galliano campaign. shot by julien d’ys, the campaign is basically a continuation of what we’ve seen since last season. its that whole over the top aesthetic drama that galliano has become known for in fashion. the image is royal in many forms & i really love that it completely captures the spirit of galliano. though i would have liked to see something a little less similar than what was shot last season- i can do nothing but respect someone with a clear branding entity & marketing vision. the red hair & framework are amazingly stunning.

daphne guinness for akris, fall


fashion industry darling, heiress & socialite daphnee guinness appears for the fall 2010 campaign for a second season with akris. the campaign images are kept clean & chic as the collection pronounces their focus on camel & caramel tones from their fall line. i love the shot & am hoping that more images will be revealed in the coming weeks. represented by women model management, photographic campaign credit goes to steven klein. betty paige bangs & a bit of chic minimalism.
