raquel has a death grip on the number one rank as the top female model in the game. if you dont know her name & are interested, by any degree, in high fashion or the modeling industry, make a mental note. raquel has had an incredible year, from editorials to campaigns. i dont think anyone realizes how dope this chick is; so to clear any form of confusion, lets go over the year by line item on her 2009 resume. on the campaign front raquel has appeared, just this year- are you ready for this? for gucci, marc jacobs, oscar de la renta, the gap’s CFDA campaign & printemps paris in addition to forever mark & hugo boss. mind you, that was just her resume for the spring. now after the spring campaign season, she returned for the fall campaigns to show you hoes how its done- landing campaigns for hermès, giorgio armani, jean paul gaultier, shiseido cosmetics & gucci, while appearing as the face of viktor & rolf’s eau mega fragrance. now, in the modeling world, campaigns are the most lucrative of all modeling gigs. she already killed the campaign seasons twice, but what was there left unconquered on the editorial front? raquel closed the year of 2008 as the cover girl for vogue nippon’s december issue. throughout this past year, raquel has appeared in american vogue ten times while landing a cover once, she has appeared six times for french vogue in addition to landing covers for vogue nippon, brazilian vogue, elle brazil & i-D. she even made a cameo in the vogue documentary, “the september issue”, in which she was filmed eating a cupcake. now throughout the year, she’s appeared on the runways for every designer, at every stop on the fashion map. here she appears for the spring chloé campaign, looking chic as ever. entering the new year, her resume continues to fill as we approach fall fashion week in new york, this february. will raquel continue to remain strong in an industry that replaces faces faster than they change handbags? or will natasha poly go from the number two rank to number one for 2010? raquel has displayed an insurmountable degree of model versatility in print & on the runway. the new year can only mean bigger & better things for her. congratulations to raquel & all the success of the past year & to the success awaiting her in the new year. raquel is represented by DNA models in new york, viva models in london & paris, as well as why not model management in milan. she’s number one for a reason.
