couture collections: stéphane rolland

by Jeremy Danté

the stéphane rolland haute couture collection displayed abstract art elements within their design concepts for the summer/spring season of 2010. high gloss gown stains were seen on the runway, alongside shell-like dress detailing. i always love the contrast of hard & soft, the raw materials on something so elegant is what pushes the limitations of what we define as beautiful. clean lines dominated the refined elegance displayed with the collection. i love the subtle use of experimentation; collections like this are why couture is such an inspiration & has such strong value in the fashion industry. beauty inspires fashion & fashion inspires art, love this collection for its simple & yet powerful statement of sophistication.
