fall collezioni, milan: etro

by Jeremy Danté

the etro fall collection in milan presented a japanese design influence this season. presented with dark undertones, the collection’s use of satin & fur  incorporations to oriental references broke from any other design concept seen from any other brand or label for the fall. modern was contrasted with classic while models jac, abbey lee kershaw, jacquelyn jablonski, karlie kloss, iris strubegger & edita vikevicuite all helped showcase the vision of the collection. while some techniques & designs were really interesting & modern, other aspects of the collection were dated & seemingly off. some of the collections prints were tacky & bordered embarrassment. that said, the model casting is quite impressive & i can appreciate the trend break from all the military influence we’ve seen from new york & london. i loved the fur & animal printed coats, as well as the beautiful satin dresses within this set. an overall strong collection, with an outstanding cast.
