spring collections: preen, new york

by Jeremy Danté

the preen collection seen on the runways of new york this season was a bit dull. much like FW10 & the overload of black on the runways, this season designers are washing their palettes out & presenting shockingly white collections. while the beginning sequence of the collection boasts iced blue & pearlized whites, the close of the collection adds depth to the light palette, ending in black fashion pieces. relaxed silhouettes were seen alongside more form fitting designs & all around a great range of looks was presented. while palette is the least of the problem, style cant be added to a collection as easily-  & style was projected in this collection fairly well this spring. admittedly, last season was much more inspiring for me.
