spring collezioni: giorgio armani, milan

by Jeremy Danté

void of any relativity to the trends of SS11 in milan, giorgio armani further allows my mind to believe that he is disconnected from the rest of fashion. with a collection produced entirely in deep navy, the collection develops armani’s recent style signature of clean design lines. use of satin was seen in the collection along with blazers as well as leather & military constructed coats. few shots of black landed in the collection line up, with use of sheer & metallics hinting that some form of solidarity was to be showcased. all in all, the concepts presented are distinctively fall & nothing about this honors the direction of the season. with rumors swirling about a big wig soon retiring; i cant help but think that person is armani. a legacy engraved in fashion; some form of change needs to take place in the labels approach to design. the disconnect is far too obvious.
