spring prêt-à-porter: roland mouret, paris

by Jeremy Danté

soft, feminine & sophisticated design was presented for the SS11 collection by roland mouret. clean design lines were adapted to classically stylish silhouettes & a soft palette was used as well. contrasts of yellow, blue & teal were combined with use of neturals & black with a very brief use of print as well. overall, the collection doesnt channel any greater forms of glamour, more so; the collection allows womenswear to be received at a broad scale. the looks presented seem unmarked by time, unaffected by trend- eternally classic. no sense of surprise or wonder was created here, this collection is a complete ode to classic style.  a solid direction was created & seen this season, but i would’ve liked to see more risks taken in design.
