collection images: zero + maria cornejo, pre-fall

by Jeremy Danté

for the past few seasons, i’ve been watching the zero + maria cornejo collection closely. for the pre-fall, the label has seemingly developed a style stride. while progressive, there is a sense of rich culture seen in the designs. the way the designs are draped, the structure of the cut, the cleanliness of design lines- it’s a different approach to minimal design. i love the strategic use of stripes along with the combination of pattern & solid black. each look was individual while still holding tight to cohesion from start to finish in the collection. i found the beige designs the most inspiring in this collection- it was all done in a very chic manner. though masculine is some areas, sensuality was felt in the shapes & silhouettes that were created. a very promising set for the pre-season; im very excited to see what will be presented at new york fashion week for FW11.
