collection images: diane von furstenburg, pre-fall

by Jeremy Danté

adding a burst of color into the pre-fall 2011 time slot, diane von furstenburg maintains her reputation in producing lively womenswear. the color story is incredibly inspiring for this collection; a beautiful sequence was painted for the set of garments. an entrance of boiling rusted oranges was combined with mustard yellow & off white egg shell. that story soon cooled with the introduction of the collections aqua, teal & emerald green, along with turquoise. at the close, the collection down-to-earth with palette notes of fudge & rich browns. overall, the collections designs were a bit more modest than previous season; the headlining element of this set was the color story which accented the agelessness of the designs. it’s fresh, in your face & sophisticated all the same. a very solid direction taken for the pre-season, im very impressed.
