collection images: luca luca, pre-fall

by Jeremy Danté

creatively directed by raul melgoza since 2008, the luca luca label caters to fashion concious high society women & for the pre-fall 2011 season continues to serve on that level. with classically refined pieces, the luca luca collection is one of solid direction & thoughtful concept. i loved the shots of red throughout the milky fall palette of cream & soft blue. with fall it’s almost expected that designers feel more void of color & even though dark designs were seen at the entrance & close of the collection sequence, i was very satisfied with the more soft & subtle areas of color within the mid-section of the womenswear set. providing luxury womenswear for a certain kind of women, the collection holds value through current trend & taps into a greater realm of style longevity as well. the coats to the skirts & the use of fur were all done in a very sophisticated manner; but was still kept fresh with modern edge. an overall strong collection with a bit of palette opposition for the fall.
