menswear collections: dolce & gabbana, fall

by Jeremy Danté

after two seasons of revisiting classical style elements better associated with their branding legacy & italian heritage, the dolce & gabbana label goes back to the future for the fall/winter 2011 season. dipping into use of faux fur in what was described as ‘eccentric tailoring’ – the fall collection picks up right where the label left off during summer/spring 2010. we see the familiar dark elements of sophistication & over the top use of prints in a subtle manner. the dolce label is one of the strongest established labels in fashion & here they represent their own branding & design signatures incredibly well. with means to further dominate in the new world of fashion; the dolce label is known for having the greatest cast of male models every season & has made a technologically wise step in creating & steadily building their online publication. a slew of interviews, press conference videos, live streams & interaction with consumers has largely contributed to the future poised for the italian based label. the usual suspects that dolce usually casts were seen through exclusive bookings with noah mills, adam senn, a shirtless david gandy & brazilian male model, evandro soldati. overall, a great collection- a cohesive set filled with masculine style & well poised trends for the fall/winter season. my favorite element of the collection was the fur- love the fur, completely.
