menswear collections: bottega veneta, fall

by Jeremy Danté

bold use of color against harsh tones of grey, black & charcoal seem to be the trend of choice, not just for bottega veneta, but for all of fashion for the FW11 season. this collection in particular, i hadn’t expected the house of veneta to use color so boldly, as we’ve seen more subdued use of palette for the past few seasons. spectacular use of leather with an army of colored coats allow this collection to take your breath away. while the first few looks are very similar, i must say, i thought this would be another color one note from the label, but through to the end; i am very satisfied with what was presented. strong direction, beautiful use of color & amazingly progressive, while still classic, concepts of design. cannot wait to see this shot editorially.
