fall collections, london: charles anastase
by Jeremy Danté
known for dramatizing & elongating design lines to challenge perceptions of style, the FW11 collection presented by charles anastase stay true to existing signatures & developed vision. with an outstanding resume of experience, anastase interned for jean-paul gaultier at age 12, rapidly developing a knack for fashion design. after working with calvin klein in 2004, 2005 seen anastase in his design debut. revealed in paris, anastase eventually left paris in 2008 for london, where he now resides & works. this season, a wide range of looks were seen from satin baby doll dresses to jumpsuits, ranging everywhere from sheer tops to crocodile skinned styles. imaginative & innovative, the collection also includes a feel of classical concepts. though more subtle than seasons past, the collection seen here is one of solid direction & thoughtful design. i love the looks that were created with what appear to be swatches of wool, very progressive & still classically just the same.
