fall collections, london: antonio berrardi

by Jeremy Danté

as my favorite collection, thus far, at london fashion week; the antonio berrardi FW11 womenswear collection is one of undeniable style, sheer sophistication & progressive construction. with an entrance comprised of white designs & dramatized lines, i was super impressed by how innovative the berrardi label decided to go this season. use of metallics & perforated details were seen combined with classically progressive concepts. fur blend coats & monochromatic geometric color blocking concepts allowed the collection to take on greater forms of creativity, outside of the stunning aspect of exaggerated lines. beautifully constructed grey wool coats were seen in the collection, further allowing a modern feel to be represented. from white to black, the collections palette went from gray to an array of bright tones fused with metallic details as intense bouts of navy were combined with use of lace. it was complete sophistication from start to finish & i would consider this the best collection of london fashion week thus far. any designer that can touch on concepts of classical style with refined details like lace & metallics while balancing all elements perfectly is one of specialized skill. greatly demonstrated creativity was seen.
