fall collection, london: mary katrantzou
by Jeremy Danté
structured, printed, chic complexity was presented by mary katrantzou for the FW11 season at london fashion week. an outrageously imaginative fusion of printed textiles was created for the womenswear collection & not only was i impressed but i came away feeling intensely inspired. i love all things of structure & those elements were clearly defined within this set this season; from dramatic gowns to modernized dresses, satin was the headling textile used adding sophistication to the otherwise wild designs. bows, flowers & even gold fish all made cameos in the collections miraculously wide ranged set of prints. as a clear statement & declaration of design, i love the collection entirely & greatly applaud the execution of each look & interpretation of vision. in transcending fashion to register as works of art- this collection is everything i seek in terms of pushing the creative envelope. an incredibly beautiful set & well balanced collection of fresh design. insanely ill.
