fall collezioni, milan: etro

a combination of interesting concepts & fascinating palette, the etro FW11 collection presented in milan was one of creative interpretation. while elements of beauty were seen; an opposition of what we define as beauty, commercially, was seen. as plaid, fur & bold tones clashed creatively & beautifully as clean lines & use of metallics was seen. models walked the runway with orange eyeshadow & a simplistic face. neutrals were added to beautiful print as glossed pants provided balance to voluminous sleeves of fur,  as well as fringe & sheer textile. an overall cohesive collection, the large combination of design elements is thoughtfully fused perfectly. while many other design collections would seem chaotic, the etro label manages to present a clean set of design with wildly imaginative pieces in sleek, stylish form. an incredible job done by etro this season, they pushed the envelope with this collection this season. even in trend, this collection manages to shine outstandingly.

fall collezioni, milan: bally

a dark palette with additions of bold contrast were seen in the bally fall collection, much like many other collections this season. filled with statement coats & feminine dresses, the FW11 bally collection was presented off runway this season & is seen through look book images. overall, the collection showcases a cohesive theme from look to look though nothing spectacular is seen. all trends of the fall are represented; slight use of print with slices of red & yellow were seen, while modernized silhouettes with classical appeal were the foundation this season. hoping to see more creative developments for spring.

fall collezioni, milan: gianfranco ferré

beautifully minimal with inspiring construction of classic fall pieces, the FW11 collection presented by gianfranco ferré is one of stunning concepts. as i was initially romanticized by the collections use of soft neutrals at the front end of the show sequence, the collections use of darker tones of purple, grey & navy added dimension to the set, in avoidance of making a dulled set of watered down shades. clean lines were greatly represented as multi-lapel layered coats were the headlining concept for me. i love nothing more in design than strict lines & a clean aesthetic- two aspects which were presented all thoughout this collection. while i was not as inspired by the collections use of metallics, i applaud the attempt & cohesion felt through those included elements. appropriate for fall, creative director, roberto rimondi paid close attention to long design lines, which were a theme of the collection. all the style elements were covered while not doing too much, rather just enough. i love the collection & am expecting a campaign that will mirror the same aesthetic of cleanliness seen here.
