fall prêt-à-porter, paris: céline

by Jeremy Danté

of the many collections presented during show season, céline is one of the most anticipated in my book. phoebe philo is a creative genius who has largely affected the way we see style for women. structured, sleek & foundational of true style- the Fw11 collection presented by the house of céline takes a dip into a warm palette of earth tones while being balanced by shades of yellow that allow modernized forms of color blocking to be seen that much more powerfully. sharp tailoring & defined cut are two elements seen greatly represented throughout the collection as a new, fresh take on classic argyle seems to be created. leather, fur & wool patch work are introduced within the collection- accenting rather than distracting from the collections use of structured style. near the back end of the collection, i really loved the simulated wood print that was used. im always so inspired by the céline collections & this season is no different. it’s organized beauty, well defined vision & strongly translated.
