editorialesque » arizona muse for vogue china

by Jeremy Danté

soft & feminine through poetic photography, paolo roversi captures the sound of silence through the likeness of arizona muse. styled by nicoletta santoro, muse appears softly undone while still capturing us as an audience with her piercing stare & flawless facial features. in some of spring’s most sophisticated pieces, the styling is much more subdued, it’s calm & well balanced throughout. with use of sheer textiles combined with soft neutrals & powdered whites, spring is definitely a season that is anti-black, in terms of palette. with the heavier palettes seen throughout what seemed to be two seasons, it’s interesting to observe how designer collections & trend are identified as a mirror of the publics emotional state. with bouts of depression, unemployment & financial crisis, collection became dark & grim, hard edged & industrial. this season, while the public starts to see a slight improvement of hope, designer collection & editorials as seen here mirror those glimmers of hope. represented by next models ny, arizona muse is the ‘it’ girl of the moment in fashion. having begun modeling in 2008, muse  took a break in 2009 after becoming pregnant & giving birth to a son. in 2010, she returned through a catalog gig with urban outfitters & blazed the FW10 show season in new york opening & closing for BCBG & walking for marc jacobs, herve leger, narcisco rodriquez & proenza schouler in new york. at the front end of 2011, muse & her star continued to rise as she was revealed as the new face for yves saint laurent & prada while appearing on the cover of italian vogue shot by steven meisel. as clearly indicated, we have a new chick on deck & she goes by the name, arizona muse.
