what yo’ name iz? diogo rodrigues, maikel castro, muriel vilela & zaydan timpani

through the lens of  matthias vriens-mcgrath five of brazil’s hottest male models were photographed for the new issue of attitude magazine. minimally styled by frank strachan- we’re talking choosing underwear; the publications pushes the limitations of editorial photography & allows pulsating bouts of sexuality to tap into erotic overtones that work well with the high contrasted black & white images. an all brazilian male model cast, kept simple through set, each male model showcases masculinity & personalization with each shot, combining to a stunning set of sexual attraction & brazilian beauty. love this!

model introduction: morthyn roc

as an individual who is always looking for what’s new & what’s next, keeping an eye out for new model talents is something that comes, almost, like second nature. male modeling in particular is one of my major areas of interest, especially considering the periodic change in demands that is seen with the revolving door known as the fashion industry. as the latest male model to voluntarily enter the grips of male modeling is morthyn roc. currently unsigned, morthyn appears through the lens of joseph bleu with hopes of entering into new opportunities in fashion. i love morthyn’s look; he has touches of just about every type of male model that is now desired by agents & high end fashion clients alike. while some labels & brands are seeking more of the masculine, classical male build morthyn fits that description; his chiseled form is lean & well defined. though thin & well built, in form, roc appears athletic while almost combining aesthetics of waif male models that are popular in high end editorial. of dominican ethnicity, morthyn aims to become involved with fashion opportunities that allow him to contribute physical beauty to greater creative projects. raised in new york city, roc has developed an interest in what he describes as, ‘the art of modeling’. with endearing eyes & alluring facial bone structure, i believe that morthyn could work well in both high end & commercial markets alike. photographic presence clearly displayed- keep your eyes out for morthyn roc.

river viiperi + sebastian sauvé for russian gq style

appearing for a shared cover of russian GQ style, soul artist agency mates river viiperi & sebastian sauvé are seen through the lens of arnaldo anaya-lucca. groomed by yoichi tomizawa, with styling by igor garanin, both boys appear outfitted in the insanely popular SS11 prada collection. of spanish nationality, river viiperi currently ranks as fashion’s no. 35 male model in the game being seen for campaigns & covers for the likes of everyone from tommy hilfiger & calvin klien to VMAN. of american nationality, sebastian sauvé continues to develop a larger model presence as well, being seen everywhere from campaigns for frankie morello & zara to his editorial work with l’officiel hommes germany, esquire, i-D & independent publication, dansk. while i, personally, prefer river over sebastian in terms of physical beauty, both prove to be a winning combination & fitting cover cast.

alessandra ambrosio for gq brazil

shot by gavin bond, supermodel sex symbol, alessandra ambrosio graces the april cover of GQ brazil looking something like a bond girl, equipped a thigh-straped knife while wearing a bikini & sporting the wet look as if she just arrived off shore. represented by elite models, alessandra is no stranger to the concept of brazilian bombshells & her presence in fashion, both commercial & high end, continue to swell each month, every year. as one of the world’s most popular victoria’s secret angels, alessandra has been able to tap into larger commercial markets & is steadily creating a larger presence in high end editorial as well as campaigns. she can be seen for the spring dolce & gabbana campaign alongside isabeli fontana, maryna linchuk & izabel goulart. while the cover is very typical of GQ, i can’t hate on alessandra’s hustle one bit. that said, ambrosio ranks as the no. 24 female model within the top 50, is the no. 10 highest earning & ranks no. 4 as the sexiest female in fashion.

editorialesque » elena fernandes for vogue india

photographed by tarum vishwa, elena fernandes of anima creatives is seen for the april issue of vogue india. shot in bali, a thoughtful set of bold style was expertly put together by edward lalrempuia, allowing the spread to become that much more pronounced in exotic editorial elements. while the bali backdrop serves enough inspiration in architecture & texture alone- the real star of this editorial is the styling. the cropped burberry motorcyle jacket/bathing suit look in shot nine immediately caught my attention & though the location of the editorial is beautiful, that left no opportunity of missed marks in terms of elevating the beauty of the spread through styling. styling can make or break a spread & here styling further empowers the editorial. nothing is worse than seen an editorial that relys to heavily on location to translate a vision. vogue india continues to thrive in development finding their own path to greatness & i admire this direction taken. to all parties involved- incredible execution.
