perhaps one of the strongest labels in fashion, let alone in london, burberry presents their 2012 resort collection. shot in paris, the collection continues down the path they’ve created in the last couple of seasons; combining classical aspects of their own heritage with that of more modern design perspective. i loved the use of palette in the collection- the entrance of neutrals that soon burned to a set of yellows that managed to cool to tones of blue & green, ending in plum & navy tones. as demonstrated in the past, christopher bailey has a very strong direction in his work with burberry & the two have proved to be a perfect fit. accessories have a noticeable presence in the collection which goes to show you how mindful the london based label is in terms of a marketing presence. beautiful color story, very inspiring. super excited to see what burberry presents for SS12.

luke warm luxury was seen for the 2012 resort collection designed by iconic womenswear designer, donna karan. stunning silhouettes were accented by a black & white with red for contrast. signature elements of draping were seen as interesting construction was presented throughout the collections coats. billowing dresses & some sheer textiles managed to balance the feel of classical & modern simultaneously throughout the collection as 50 looks all appeared stunningly in the set. from looks that could be worn in the office to cocktail dresses & gown that could be worn at the baddest galas- a wide range of donna karan style signatures was seen & clearly translated are the aspects of luxury, class & stylized sophistication.

collection images: jason wu, resort

playful sophistication, that’s how i would describe the resort collection presented by jason wu for the 2012 pre-season. soft natural tones in egg shell were seen against more deep earth tones of brown while multi-textured headlined the collection. floral accents were seen alongside few contrasts of yellow as the collection remain cohesive in concept from start to finish. a beautifully executed collection overall; while noticeably more casual than what we’ve seen on the runway in the last two season, it seems as though wu is creatively in tune with the fact that the resort pre-season is intended for casual wardrobe.
