represented by IMG, lily aldridge appears for the latest victoria’s secret collection, the little sexy bridal collection. fusing classic with sexy, the commercial sees aldridge doing everything bridal-esque, wearing white platformed heels in sheer panties & lace bra, cutting a wedding cake. evidentally, it doesn’t appear that lily plans on eating that cake anytime soon- what happened to the days when victoria’s secret was celebrating curves & not misrepresenting women? while i celebrate women of all ethnicities & sizes, i feel that the new standard that has been introduced in the form of the new VS angels has fast become unrealistic & drastically effects the female public who both views & shops at victoria’s secret. while VS is not known for carrying plus sizes, i did respect the fact that curves were embraced by the lingerie giant but that has seemed to change. with with stars like jennifer lopez, kim kardashian & beyonce embracing their full frames & sexy curves- what statement is VS sending in concealing the bodies of real women? the new crop of VS angels should be compared, more accurately, to girls than women.
