rihanna for british vogue, november

through the lens of alasdair mclellan, rihanna blazes the cover of vogue uk for the month of november. from kanye debuting on the runways of paris with his collection to this, there is a greater power that is pulling me closer to fashion during what has seemed to be a lull in my own personal interest. beautifully blonde & in armani privé on the cover- rihanna continues to dominate while on tour, internationally & currently recording the follow-up to her “loud” album. shortly after the release of her “we found love” single, this cover appears & im sure that rihanna’s fan base is ready to attack. my jaw literally dropped after seeing this cover & im exceptionally impressed with the cover shot, the styling, the choice to shoot her blonde- all creative elements work perfectly. im completely blown away by how beautiful this came out. ladies & gentlemen, this is a cover.

editorialesque » freja beha erichsen for vogue japan beauty

through the lens of alasdair mclellan, freja beha erichsen appears for the june issue of vogue japan, for the publication’s beauty supplement. styled by george cortina, the spread focuses on fashion pieces that  serve well in a beach setting. through make-up done by jeanine lobell, the spread focuses on more subdued elements of cosmetics as freja is seen with a soft pink lip & bronzed shadow. laurent philippon allowed the greater feel of ocean side chic as freja appropriately sports the wet look. overall, the spread is a good addition to freja’s portfolio. much like the post previous, freja is of the new school as well & represents high fashion’s obsession with the androgynous. represented by IMG & as a known favorite of karl lagerfeld, freja steadily remains on top in the fashion game. freja has also cast to appear for chanel’s FW12 campaign, which will debut soon.

the spring i-d cover series

what yo’ name iz? amber valetta, stella tennant, kristen mcmenamy,
daphne groenveld, behati prinsloo, patrick o’donnell

as a explosion of a cover series, a couple covers a day have been circulating the fashion blogosphere this past week. shot for i-D’s latest cover series, three icons & three new faces hit the newstands through the lens of craig mcdean, paolo roversi, josh olins, daniel jackson, matt jones, alasdair mclellan the cover series exudes this feel of 90’s to me. it could be the use of color, the simplified styling or even the icons who were cast. i like that while other publications have taken it up a notch, i-D has opted to scale things back. while i usually prefer greater bouts of glamour, i appreciate the opposition this go ’round. the relaxed feel of spring is mirrored beautifully on the casual aspects seen from each cover.

lara stone for self service

represented by IMG models, lara stone lands the cover of self service with a strong brown & lavish lashes. kept classic with a laced collar & conservative style direction, stone’s simplicity is balanced with a foiled mast head & foiled cover text to match. shot by alasdair mclellan, with make-up by val garland; im always super surprised at how stunning lara can look when fully clothed. i love self service & their raw approach to photography, it’s terry richardson with added depth, minus the whole overtly sexual thing. lara remains on top as a dominant force in fashion & it seems as though this year will prove to be another fruitful year for her. im excited to see what surprises lara has in store for us in the new year, one of the fashion’s greatest.

lara stone + jamie dornan for i-D

lara stone is represented by IMG model management.
she appears with jamie dornan whom is represented by select models, london.
i love these images & the jamie dornan cameos are bold, but not trashy.
both appear for i-D’s blood & flesh issue, the direction is very natural.
lara stone is a bad bitch regardless.
