beautifully minimal with inspiring construction of classic fall pieces, the FW11 collection presented by gianfranco ferré is one of stunning concepts. as i was initially romanticized by the collections use of soft neutrals at the front end of the show sequence, the collections use of darker tones of purple, grey & navy added dimension to the set, in avoidance of making a dulled set of watered down shades. clean lines were greatly represented as multi-lapel layered coats were the headlining concept for me. i love nothing more in design than strict lines & a clean aesthetic- two aspects which were presented all thoughout this collection. while i was not as inspired by the collections use of metallics, i applaud the attempt & cohesion felt through those included elements. appropriate for fall, creative director, roberto rimondi paid close attention to long design lines, which were a theme of the collection. all the style elements were covered while not doing too much, rather just enough. i love the collection & am expecting a campaign that will mirror the same aesthetic of cleanliness seen here.
as a leader in the minimalist direction that fashion is going, the FW10 calvin klein womenswear collection was completely inspiring. legendary models kristen mcmenamy & stella tennat walked the runway as jac opened & sigrid agren closed. a new black female also appeared on the runway by the name shena moulton. as black, white & egg-shell breezed the runway with cameos of blue. the collection displayed an incredible translation of clean lines & architectural influence. no form of over kill was seen on any of the collection pieces, completely chic- the collection is a bold telling of the future of fashion. as an american fashion label, im exceptionally proud to see what the calvin klein legacy is evolving to. among the many shows that broadcasted through live stream, the womenswear show was seen by a larger audience than seasons past. with a lockdown on the fashion game, the calvin klein brand continues to raise the bar with a consistently dope representation of their subdivisions & collections throughout commercial represenation & brand imaging. though simple, the collection did not suffer any form of lackluster quality at all. one of my favorites this season, completely inspiring. i look forward to the campaign for this season; & judging from the amazing casting of this show, im sure the campaign wont dissapoint.
acting in accordance with this new era in fashion, the patrik ervell collection for the fall season of 2010 presents minimalistic designs. with little to no ornamentation of accessories, prints or bright palette shots the collection produces a solid effort. menswear in the fall is for the most part expected; the least that any designer within that arena of fashion could do is just focus on their execution & meticulosity within those parameters. though nothing particularly groundbreaking is seen here, this does inspire my own vision of insanely perfected perfection. simple shit speaks loud & clear to my mind & vision.

the dior homme fall collection fuels the all black everything trend. though shades of neutral are featured, the collection is, for the most part, black. clean lines dominate the collection as we see designs left without logos or any monogram-esque design details. the collection showcases gold garment detailing with the collections blazers & leather coats. shades of charcoal are featured in the collection & i loved the new modern take on pin stripes. menswear is really going more in the direction of style quality. structure is seen in the coats & the collection interestingly incorporates some sheer materials. a strong effort & the dior collection, as well as menswear design as a whole, is really focusing on broadcasting minimalist themes.

the jil sander menswear collection presented clean lines for the fall season. within the sander signature, clean lines are expected as is the collections black, white & neutral palette. grey makes a soft statement in the collection as well as we see small forms of experimentation with fabric textile placement. for me, winter is all about the coats & the collection puts its bid in for some of the season’s best. a completely chic set & most of what we see for this collection is faultlessly clean.
