fall prêt-à-porter, paris: zac posen

refined & stylized, zac posen presented his FW11 collection on the runways of paris fashion week yesterday. as jourdan dunn opened, coco rocha, karlie kloss, carmen kass, jessica stam, ming xi & crystal renn followed. noticeably more simplified this season, i really loved the collection for it’s fusion of classical & progressive elements. a dark, rich palette allowed each look to possess power on the bodies of each female who was cast. the design lines of the collection were particularly interesting; chic construction was seen throughout. with his signature silhouettes, the collection presented beautiful use of fur & perfect hints of metallics this season. seems like zac is even stronger in paris, since making the move from the runways of new york.

fall collections new york: z spoke by zac posen

with models sessilee lopez, coco rocha, tao okamoto & crystal renn seen throughout the FW11 lookbook for zac posen’s z spoke collection, i must admit; i was more caught up with the cast then i was the clothing. black, white, grey, deep teal & a single shot of pink are seen for the collections palette as each model is seen equipped with heavy shadow & a dark lip. particular attention was drawn to the collections accessories, more specifically the handbags within this set. after the initial excitement a of seeing some of our favorite model faces, the collection is one of solid direction & clearly represented style signatures which are very well developed through the designs of zac posen. the z spoke collection is the sister collection to the zac posen main line, which is now shown in paris. the z spoke collection allows the posen name to represent a piece of itself in it’s native of america, more accurately in new york. i love the feel that is generated through each of these looks- i get a greater sense of luxury & rich glamour, the deep tones; it’s refined style done very well. a strong collection; sexy & chic.

fall shwpckg: ford models, new york

as one of the most prominent agencies in fashion, ford models has represented some of the baddest females in fashion for over years. karmen pedaru, anais mali, valerija kelava, ming xi, rose cordero, alana zimmer, tao okamoto, hanne gaby odiele, anna jagodzinska, julia hafstrom & crystal renn have dominated the world of high fashion in editorial & through campaign bookings in the past five years. for the fall show season, im anticipating seeing all of these females in the biggest & best shows of new york fashion week. established in 1946, by eileen & the late gerard w. ford, ford models has offices in miami, san francisco, toronto & chicago while representing men, women, children & artists alike. under the direction of paul rowland, the ford agency has gone though a modern make over providing a much more edgy model option to brands & luxury clients in fashion.

the spring dsquared² campaign by mert + marcus

what yo’ name iz? anna jagodzinska, jonathan & kevin ferreira de sampaio,
crystal renn, jean carlos, fei fei sun, diego miguel, hailey clauson,
monika sawicka, reid prebenda

a staggeringly large cast of veteran & new model talent was photographed for the summer/spring 2011 dsquared² campaign. through the lens of mert alas + marcus piggot, the images fuse styling of athleticism to that of masculine formal wear & provide an all around glamorously simple direction for the ease of spring. every element that has become recognized of the brand is represented & very well. admittedly, i had not expected much after seeing a small preview of the campaign but after seeing the image series in totality, im in love. while jean carlos is already a rising star, new male model, diego miguel makes a debut & is sure to be a star in the new year. styled by katie grand with art direction by giovanni bianco- i love this campaign.

collection images: zac posen, pre-fall

the zac posen collections are very hit or miss with me. i find that my perception of beauty is always challenged; in areas i consider experimentation, the zac posen adds greater creative depth to more commercialized forms of beauty. yes we’ll get gowns & formal fashion looks, but there is always a slight alteration, a vague detail or some sort of lapse in concept. for the most part, a reasonably good product was presented through look book image for the pre-fall 2011 season. snakeskin was seen with fresh use of both green & blue. while dark undertones ruled the collection palette hilary rhoda & crystal renn assisted in delivery of this pre-season set. lush use of fur was seen & for the most part, designs were kept classic. im sure something further will be presented on the runways in paris for fall fashion week. a cohesive collection & clear vision overall.
