appearing editorially for the fall issue of bon, jeneil williams of new york models appears through the lens of ben weller. with styling by marcus söder, the spread focuses on textures with fall’s best coats coats. the textured backdrop allows the spread to take on a greater artistic feel while jeneil’s chocolate brown skin glistens against the camera flash. jeneil is a particularly groundbreaking case in fashion, channeling beauty along the lines of alek wek, williams has had noted success on the runways in new york, paris, london & milan. continuing her climb to the top, she already has a benneton campaign, a cover for katie grand’s love, an italian vogue new comer spotlight & i-D cover all under her belt. i love the prominence jeneil’s poise is- her body language in her work, not just limited to this spread seems to give off a fearlessness. it’s strong, unbridled confidence with powerful presence. a great spread from photograph to model. keep your eyes on jeneil.
shot by thierry legoues, jeneil williams appears for the FW10 issue of french revue des modes. a beautiful black & white shot with golden brown text, the cover combines tribal trend with exaggeratted florals. represented by new york model mangement, jeneil is of jamaican decent & is steadily making a mark on high fashion editorial. you’ve seen jeneil for united colors of bennetton, loewe leather & russian vogue as of late. the cover seen here is one of ten in a series for fall. get ’em jeneil!
channeling structured design lines with oriental influence; the louis vuitton collection is always one of tremendous vision & lethal execution. at the top of the design world food chain, the house of vuitton dominates in every sector of fashion; including footwear & handbags. a powerhouse cast including alex wek, joan smalls, jeneil williams, jamie bochert, lindsey wixson, sigrid agren, anja rubik, kasia struss & carmen kass all appeared on the marbelized runway this season. a wide ranged palette was seen on the runway as use of fringe, animal print & slight injections of metallic were seen throughout the spring set. wild floral print was seen alongside color blocked designs & models walked the runway with a chic dark lips & side swooped bang. a strong vision & expectedly solid execution. the vision of marc jacobs is completely unstoppable both artistically & through marketing profitably. he has single handedly reinvented the house of louis vuitton. another great season in design.

a beautiful color story was presented during the loewe runway show in paris for the summer/spring 2011 season. pink, yellow, red, aqua, yellow, nude & brown tones were seen in sequence during the collection, which provided a refined sensibility to classic style. crisp design lines were accentuated by the use of anima & floral pring, along with leather & metallic. equipped with a diversified cast including kasia struss, alessandra ambrosio, chanel iman, barbara palvin & jeneil williams- the set hit all the trend bases while not veering off course with the classics. accessories & handbags had a noticeable impact in the collection, as the loewe brand has heritage in leather goods dating back to 1846. versatile & wide ranged from look to look, the set is promising; in that, it delivers more than one option while still managing to remain cohesive collectively.

showcasing element of progression in design, the todd lynn collection presented for the spring is beyond creative. structured designs & futuristic elements were used for the collection, which holds a surprisingly refreshing take on minimalism. though cohesion is put into question in terms of palette; the collection remains solid where it counts- in design. with neutrals, metallics & a shot of black via jeneil williams for a final; the collection is subtle where needed & agressive. i love the use of hardware on a few of the garments & though intimate in number; the collection is a standout in london this season.
with an interesting & almost comical use of print, the giles collection presented during london fashion week was also one of epic model cast. with alessandra ambrosio, chanel iman, jeneil williams, coco rocha & agyness deyn all appearing the collection grew more tame as the collection progressed. while camp in concept, many of the clothes were a direct representation of the SS11 season style reference of the 70’s. retro elements were seen in some of the collection cuts, but print took center stage in the set this season. overall, strong direction, interesting concepts & powerful model cast.
