lara stone for vogue japan

represented by IMG models, lara stone appears for the november cover of vogue japan. plastered on the cover behind the words, ‘dress to impress’ – lara’s frame is gripped by givenchy as a bold lip & sleek hair deliver a fashion image worthy of worship. ranking as fashion’s no. 1 female model in fashion, lara is of dutch/english heritage & was discovered in paris at the age of 12. consistently, each season, lara continues to dominate all aspects of high fashion including runway, high end editorial & is a vital force with fashion ad campaigns. as we approach this years end, it seems as though lara is unstoppable & her rank is written in, yes, stone. love this cover, as it is a complete contrast to her feature editorial.

lara stone for vogue paris

one of the most interesting fashion publications to watch, currently, is french vogue. not just for the french association but for the changes that are still very fresh at this mid-way point of the year. under the direction of emmanuelle alt, a resurgence of supermodels has graced the cover & a much more polished direction is seen. from 2001-january 2011, under the direction of carine roitfeld, vogue paris has become synonymous for groundbreaking visuals & parisienne seduction- it’s been about sexual energy & tested limitations. but all that has changed & over time, i like what is seen. while i still did love french vogue the roitfeld way; i very much respect this reestablishment of commercialized glamour that alt has brought back to the forefront. im sure that over time this polish & demure nature will grow old & weary but for the most part, it’s new & fresh for french vogue. shot for the august cover, lara stone appears through the lens of inez + vinoodh in this vintage inspired, salue the troops styled cover shot. much like moss for british vogue, lara stone has become a french vogue cover girl fave in recent years & here she returns to defend her title. considering that this is the august cover & september is looming around the corner; im betting that lara won’t snag two vogue paris covers for two consecutive months so im definitely wondering who’ll be the next chick.

british vogue’s royal wedding issue

what yo’ name iz? natalia vodianova, lara stone, freja beha erichsen

for their first ever cover series, vogue UK takes part in celebrating the royal wedding by enlisting mario testino to shoot three stunning covers of three of fashion’s supermodels- two of which are british themselves. represented by DNA models, natalia vodianova appears in the first cover while both lara stone & freja beha erichsen of IMG appear in the following. an aesthetic relativity is seen in all three covers, as the theme of romance is well translated with words floating about; “catherine middleton: the making of a modern princess”, “fashion to fall in love with”, “true romance”. from vision to styling, quintessential wedding elements are combined perfectly & with the royal wedding just weeks away; it’s safe to say that the world is watching britain right now. poetic, soft & ultra feminine- the covers & cast are both equally as lovely. this is so fucking lovely, isn’t it?

lara stone for self service

represented by IMG models, lara stone lands the cover of self service with a strong brown & lavish lashes. kept classic with a laced collar & conservative style direction, stone’s simplicity is balanced with a foiled mast head & foiled cover text to match. shot by alasdair mclellan, with make-up by val garland; im always super surprised at how stunning lara can look when fully clothed. i love self service & their raw approach to photography, it’s terry richardson with added depth, minus the whole overtly sexual thing. lara remains on top as a dominant force in fashion & it seems as though this year will prove to be another fruitful year for her. im excited to see what surprises lara has in store for us in the new year, one of the fashion’s greatest.

lara stone for vogue paris

through the lens of mario sorrenti, lara stone appears for the feburary issue of french vogue. as the special collections issue, stone appears in gucci amidst a floral garden. represented by IMG models, lara stone has entered the new year as strong as she entered last year;  holding the rank as fashion’s number one female model, the no. 13 highest earning & the no. 10 sexiest female in the game, lara continues to dominate. with a triple play campaign set with the house of calvin klein, lara has appeared as the spring face for the CK by calvin klein, CK accessories & calvin klein collection. while the contrasted tones almost wash lara out for this cover, one thing that wont be washed out is her career in the new year. she’s a bad one.

lara stone + alexander johansson for ck by calvin klein, spring

as a calvin klein favorite, lara stone continues her double booking gig with the iconic american fashion house for their ck by calvin klein spring campaign. shot by mert + marcus, the campaign steers in the same lane as the calvin klein collection advertisments, appealing to consumers with clean design lines- with a bit more style causality. fresh design is seen on the bodies of not only lara stone, whom is represented by IMG, but alexander johansson of new york models co-stars as well. all in all, the campaign serves it’s purpose beautifully & the collection shines through inspiring movement & natural light.

lara stone for calvin klein collection, spring

represented by IMG, lara stone returns for the summer/spring 2011 season, as the face of calvin klein collection. shot by mert + marcus, the campaign images are a clean cut translation of the aesthetic presented each season on the runways of new york fashion week, for the house of calvin klein. while the collection is structural & almost, in some ways, bland- i cant deny the fact that a restructuring of style is & has been happening at the house of calvin klein in the past five years. with stunning images like these further solidifying this new age movement, the legacy of the klein label has been changed forever. im in love with the choice to shoot in black & white, not to mention my love for heavy lighting & ultimately, an image with depth. nothing tops lara when it comes to high end campaigns & this season is a superb follow-up to what we seen last fall. incredible.
