menswear collection: salvatore ferragamo, fall

while other designers have opted for a color palette of bold choices in unexpected areas of design, like the inner lining of coats; the salvatore ferragamo collection creates one of the most beautiful color stories of the fall season, in milan. beginning with a light base of neutrals, bone & skin toned designs, the collection slowly begins to heat to rusted oranges burning to brown; ultimately cooling through use of green teal & deep rooted aqua. shades, big brimmed fedora’s, suede coats, use of leather were all elements interlaced into this season’s collection, which proves to be a beautiful addition to the ferragamo archives.

menswear collections: louis vuitton, spring

presenting an expectedly dope menswear collection, the louis vuitton SS11 menswear set showcases solid style & amazing accessories. bags are always a main feature of any vuitton collection & this season the creative team made many new additions. i love the variations of damier & monogram logo printed pieces within the collection. as for each look, clean & casual styles were done in darker tones. model casting was spot on as we seen david agbodji, vladimir ivanov & marlon teixeira walk during the show. while darker tones took the most powerful lead in the collection palette, neutrals made few cameos as did shots of color for good balance & contrast. green pieces were matched to collection looks as minor use of prints was seen as well.

menswear collections: corneliani, spring

referencing classic italian style in menswear, the corneliani collection for the summer/spring kept things very simple for the current show season. the model casting for the show was amazing as we seen terron wood, arthur sales & noticed that arthur kulkov opened. partik kafka, jeremy santucci, vladimir ivanov, ryan kennedy, simon nessman, phillip huang, rene rodriquez, nils butler & marlon teixeira within the 50 piece collection. overall, the collection was kept classic & no style risks were taken with any of the designs. between the classic style elements & the powerhouse casting, the whole presentation was faultless. i feel like the hardcore classical references will only work against the label though; there is nothing new about what is presented; there is no distinction from collections we’ve seen in the past & what was presented here- a solid design set but nothing new.

tamiris souza freitas, tomas skoloudik

shot by matthew scrives, the spring armani exchange hosts a number of models alongside AX favorite, clint mauro. represented by ford models, clint is joined by irina of IMG models, tamiris of one model management, marlon of wilhelmina models & tomas of DNA model management. the campaign is shot along the same lines of last season, as we see the model cast sprawled on a beach half-dress in AX pieces. clint mauro has gained major notoriety for his campaign work with the armani brand, its good to see them introduce other models to this seasons cast. the black & white image right above this text has been used for in store visuals & showcases love in all forms. man on man, man on woman, woman on woman- its all there & i love it. beauty & equality all in one showcase, what more could anyone ask for? applause the armani team for producing this concept.
