editorialesque » saskia de brauw for vogue japan

through the lens of mikael janssen, model newcomer, saskia de brauw steps into the spotlight for the pages of vogue japan for their september issue. opulent glamour was the name of the game for george cortina, who styled the spread as stunning use of natural light, luxurious location & undeniable model presence is seen. represented by DNA & hailing from the netherlands- saskia has rapidly risen in the fashion ranks since she hit the scene in 2010. this fall, thus far, she’s already appeared for three major ad campaigns for moncler, DSQUARED & versace. appearing here, editorially, the female also graces the cover of numero for their september issue & will likely continue this upward high fashion climb through show season which is just weeks away from kick off. beautifully shot, excellently styled & powerfully poised- this is one of my spreads from september. in terms of career longevity, saskia fits the mold of the modern crop of supermodels who display versatility through greater forms of asthetic androgyny- the short hair, the defined bone structure- all of that is in high demand with high fashion houses & saskia is a shoe in.

iris strubegger for vogue germany, september

shot by alex lubomirski, iris strubegger of women model management sets the cover of german vogue on fire for the month of september. stunningly opulent with a commanding presence- the cover is beautifully shot & glamorously styled. as one of my favorites, iris represents for austrians in high fashion & is a standout amongst the many females on & off the runway. seen last season for the spring givenchy campaign, iris is a cover girl regular & is one of my favorite chicks for her versatility & blank canvas of features. from ultra feminine to hard edged masculine- iris slays from every angle & bends genders like a pro. strubegger represents the new crop of female models that banks on more of an interesting look rather than a commercial, polished look. more than thrilled to see her grace the vogue german september cover & am even more juiced to see how hard she goes for her feature editorial. love the cover, love iris, the make-up, the dress- everything. superb cover.

abbey lee kershaw for vogue japan

represented by next models ny, abbey lee kershaw graces the july cover of vogue japan outfitted in dior. with heavy shadow & blonde locks, im on the fence about this cover; granted i’ve seen abbey kill it more beautifully than seen. with covers, i tend to lean towards more polish & it seems as though a combination of attempted edge & sophistication have failed to translate. with abbey’s blonde hair against the yellow, her blonde seems bland & the eyes over powering. granted that spring has been a major moment for yellow, concerning trend, the cover definitely grabs your attention. is it the best cover abbey has in her portfolio? not quite. but we’ll have to wait & see what else is in store inside; considering how incredible abbey’s numero cover was & how dissapointing the feature spread turned out to be, there really is no telling. im hoping that this issue isn’t as much of a false advertisment as naomi’s vogue japan cover for june, which resulted in no feature editorial. disrespectful.

editorialesque » hailey clauson for numéro

through the lens of greg kadel, hailey clauson appears in this opulent & modernized look at western style for the pages of numero. styled by patti wilson, with hair & make-up by duffy & mariel barrera; i love the contrast of lavish home decor & distinct western nuances, i’ve clearly stated my distaste for anything western but combined with luxury, i didn’t even notice. represented by next models ny, hailey is seen in this impressive photographic performance, making it clear that she is a star on the rise. causing quite the stir for spring show season, hailey walked for an impressive batch of designers including calvin klein, gucci, versace, louis vuitton, hermes, christian dior, hakaan, miu miu & lanvin. already ranked as fashion’s no. 45 model within the top 50; hailey has already scored two campaigns including one alongside joan smalls & karmen pedaru for gucci as well as a spot for the spring DSQUARED² campaign. originally signed to ford models in 2009, clauson went from ford to marilyn management & ended up where she is now, with next models ny. as a capabale agency, next also represents model superstars karlie kloss, arizona muse, anja rubik, abbey lee kershaw, shu pei & malgosia bela. skills clearly demonstrated, hailey has seemingly mastered the art of modeling & showcases much of that new school attitude that is being represented in high fashion modeling. featured as vogue japan’s model of the month in 2009, it’s clear- hailey is a star.

kate moss for vogue brazil

through the lens of mario testino, british supermodel icon kate moss appears for yet another cover- her third this may alone. stripped down to nothing but gold cuff, diamond drop earrings & her own tattoos; kate appears timeless as the ultimate modern icon of the new generation of supermodels. represented by IMG, kate has had an enormously successful career & there don’t seem to be any stops ahead. while im glad that she still books covers & campaigns, some have cited kate as ‘boring in the face’ or ‘void of emotion’ – i think kate has mastered her own signature, it’s that punk facade with a bit of girlish innocence- those are aspects i feel from this cover & im always inspired to see a female at kate’s age, still working.

abbey lee kershaw for numéro

stunningly, abbey lee kershaw appears for the may cover of numéro, issue number one-hundred & twenty-three. the low saturation & lanvin gown make for a flawless combination as kershaw slays, yet again while landing yet another cover. slowly building an arsenal of editorial credibility through covers, & editorial spreads- abbey always steals the show as clearly demonstrated here. with her platinum blonde locks, kershaw appears hauntingly chic with an air of movement adding to a graceful cover shot. i cannot wait to see the remainder of this issue & am expecting to be stunned for abbey’s feature spread.

editorialesque » isabeli fontana for muse

represented by women model management, isabeli fontana is among the flock of females christened modern muses for muse magazine. shot by danielle & iango, fontana appears beatifully showcasing bare skin & heightened beauty in the black & white editorial set. born in south brazil, isabeli is a mother of two & has still maintained career gigs as a victoria’s secret angel while booking spring campaigns for ports 1961, escada & dolce & gabbana. from VS catalog work to sports illustrated features, isabeli is a standout in today’s competitive modeling industry & continues to rise as a female force landing booking after booking on the runway, editorially & in campaigns every season. since discovering isabeli i’ve fallen in love with her light eyes & dark hair; she is one of my favorite females in the game. here, her beauty is organically represented & highlighted both sensually & with sophistication. a model with tattoos, interestingly, isabeli’s ink is usually cosmetically covered for photo shoots.
