emil dostovic, west serseub, kadeem fisher, manuel ramos,

shot by karim sadli, i-D magazine takes a focused look on the casting of daniel peddle & drew dasent for the legendary house of givenchy. the casting phenomenon & influential power of the house of givenchy are something straight out of a dream for most models- spotlighting the phenomenal cast is more than necessary. booking a givenchy show can lead to a number of other fashion opportunities for male & female models alike. booking givenchy allows models to transcend onto the next level. ethnically diverse, not many can surpasss or even equal to the power & creative force of riccardo tisci, the creative director of givenchy- he sets the trends for what the rest of the high fashion realm follow. what’s most admirable about the casting of givenchy is the attraction to new & unknown models, it’s that fearlessness to break new ground that allows all elements of fashion, style & modeling to transform into something unseen, something original & artistically inspired. it goes without saying that givenchy has one of the best male & female models casts every season; on the runway & also through campaigns.

britney spears for v

shot by mario testino, britney spears appears on the cover of V’s issue no. 70. through sophisticated styling by panos yiapanos, spears appears in designs by tom ford, ralph lauren & ferragammo in her three part cover series. yellow, blue & pink shades are seen as the defending queen of pop returns for another killing season & uses her good girl image to do so. with connections to donatella versace during the early 2000’s, not many can compare or compete with the star of britney spears, concerning pop culture, music & image. beyond the parameters of fashion, britney transcends as a living icon of the american dream & remains untouched as the world’s greatest pop star. on the heels of her new album, femme fatale, britney graces the cover of V’s star power issue & clearly, there is nothing beats spears. as image has become heavily intertwined into the packaging of britney spears, as an artist, we first seen britney in 1999 when she debuted on the scene with her massive hit, “..baby one more time”. appearing in the music video clad in a school girl uniform, the pop scene was on-fire & britney single handedly revived pop music for the next generation. her first album, “..baby one more time” debuted at no. 1 on billboard & reached double platinum cerification within one month. after one year of release, britney’s first album moved 8,358,619 units & britney still holds the record as the youngest american artist in history to sell a million records. through the years we’ve seen britney in red patent leather jump suits, with boa constrictors around her neck & even seen her dark side during her blackout era. as britney gears up for the release of her 7th studio album, femme fatale, the world has come to know britney through media turmoil, record breaking music, failed relationships & meteoric rises both on & off the chart.

editorialesque » mariacarla for italian vogue

mariacarla appears on the cover & editorially for the october issue of italian vogue through the lens of steven meisel. seen in sequins, animal print, fur & heavy beading- the featured editorial is almost an allergic reaction to the soft sophistication seen on the cover. again touching on the creative repuation of italian vogue, i love that the styling is wild & over the top. mariacarla is represented by women model managment; chaotic styling for the spread seen here was expertly executed by panos yiapanis.

editorialesque » eniko mihalik for another

eniko mihalik is represented by the marilyn agency in new york . she appears editorially for the SS10 issue of another magazine. shot by willy vanderperre, i am in love with each image for the attention paid to styling detail & the showcase of that styling through lighting. styling for this shoot done ridiciulously well by panos yiapanis; from balenciaga to givenchy, love this spread. eniko is among the baddest females & knows how to bring that shit editorially. those skills have been cast for this season’s SS10 kenzo campaign; last year you may remember seeing her as the face of max mara & cesare paciotti’s fall campaigns.

editorialesque » natasha poly for russian vogue

natasha poly is represented by women model management. she appears editorially for the january issue of russian vogue, as seen. it seems as though they take every opportunity to put natasha in jil sander. i understand she was the face of the fall campaign but its like, style her in new shit. for the remainder of the spread she  rocks everything from balenciaga & escada to nina ricci & lanvin. you had to know that they would take one last opportunity to photograph the heeless nina ricci’s before they go out of season. images for this spread shot by patrick demarchelier. styling for this edit done by panos yiapanis, who styled natasha’s fall covers & editorial spreads for muse magazine. natasha is sure to have another amazing for 2010, this marks the beginning. i love this edit, the styling is everything & the last shot looks very high end, elegant & expensive.
